The warm, red south of Kirhamh is home to the desert country of Iliomet. A place of vast history, seemingly dating from time immemorial, Iliomet seems to be the seat of holiness in Kirhamh; with more temples, monasteries, and libraries than homes, it can sometimes seem. Iliomet is, by far, the most peaceful of Kirhamhan nations — generally avoiding conflict that arises, and never really being the target for attempted takeovers. Though that may be in large part because the country, despite its great geographic "ownership," is quite small… what cities do exist, are north; near the mountains and water. Otherwise, independent nomadic tribes wander the desert to the south, as they can.
The rulership of Iliomet is also particularly unique, seeming to last for generations at a time, and within no traceable family line, yet the passage of the mantle always occurs without conflict. Rumors abound, including that the ruler is god-touched, god-kin, or even that the gods themselves alternate giving direct advice to the mortal realm through the Iliometi head.
