Demonym: Serbuiin [sehr-boo-EE-en]
Renowned for: Magical expertise, "loud"/arrogant political presence, history of tension with Acoleard
Common Races: Elves, Gnomes, Humans, Dwarves
The closest “neighbor” to Acoleard, Serbuin is a dichotomic country of flourishing forests, rolling hills, and grassy fields, as well as forbidding cliffs, abrupt sinkholes, and scattered caverns. Like its natural landscape, Serbuiin history is one of generosity and mildness interspersed with duplicity and expansion. Serbuiin society is strictly structured, classed, and proud. Even the lower classes of Serbuiin hierarchy have a great love of showmanship, uniqueness, and finely-crafted things. They do not “war” so much as hold regular parties (the largest and grandest being the annual Peace Court) wherein prestige and power are measured through presentation and poise… and notes are taken behind supposedly kindly eyes about who is the weakest link, what noble’s land would best benefit from a neighbor's expansion, and who is not so strong as they claim.
Serbuin is all but the magical capital of Kirhamh (at the very least it is self-described as such), with many universities of magic and an international open-arms policy for incoming casters to be taught, conduct research, etc. within their borders. Most commerce is with the purpose of production of enchanted items, removing curses, identifying and restoring ancient relics, and otherwise acting on various magical commissions.
