The Tourmal Ocean is one almost of dichotomy and mystery. From the eastern coast, the waters are nearly opaque with sediment, so the fluctuating tide and foaming crests may seem neutral and lifeless. Yet, beneath those waves, Kirhamh is well aware of the existence and societies of aquatic peoples, both indifferent and malicious. As they are not often moved to interact with the surface, it can be easy to forget, or ignore, the cultures being passed on by, deep below; especially due to the Tourmal's excellent sailing conditions. But Tsekrish has built its high walls for many reasons, not the least of which is to ward off intermittent territorial attempts… or to hold its ground against the occasional sea monster.
Sailors of the past have, at times, attempted to circumnavigate between the Girivian and Rishtan coasts, linking the Avent and Tourmal oceans. Yet it seems the abundant wildlife of those waters, in addition to the challenges of so long a journey at sea, have typically either caused those ships to turn right back around, or to be lost at sea.
