Tsekrish

SAY-krish
Demonym: Rishtan [RISH-tan]
Capital: Tsekrish
Renowned for: Isolationism, giant wall, singular craftsmanship
Common Race: Humans

Tsekrish, on the eastern coast of the mainland, is an odd “country”: Rather, it is an immense, continuous city surrounded by titanic walls. It is built at the very edge of a long, sloping coastal beach; using the tide as an additional, natural protective measure. At high tide, the city-state becomes like a submerged island – impenetrable behind the water and its walls – and dry entry/exit at low tide is but a brief window of (regulated) opportunity. There has been very little interaction with these people, mostly humans, for much of history. What trade these secretive people do conduct is highly selective and tightly managed.

Due to the great mystery of the place, and the rarity and prestige befitting a merchant allowed within to get such goods, items and craftsmanship from Tsekrish are a highly expensive and exotic commodity.
